Providing you with more than just a job.
The 1000 Local Jobs project is the joint brainchild of the Mayor of Ipswich – Paul Pisasale and IPA Personnel’s CEO – Rabieh Krayem. The idea was born to stem the unemployment rate heightened by the recent global economic crisis and to make a real difference to this issue by putting words into action, supporting local communities.
The project will commence in the Government identified priority area hardest hit by the global economic recession; Ipswich and the Western Corridor. IPA Personnel, in partnership with Ipswich City Council, Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, Department of Employment and Industrial Relations (Skilling Queenslanders for Work), MEGT Australian Apprenticeships Centre and Job Services Australia are providing 1000 local jobs to 1000 local people. The project is targeted at unemployment with the objective to place them into sustainable local employment. This ambitious initiative will bring together key civic community and business leaders in a collaborative effort to provide candidates with the skills to gain successful employment in the region that they live. By investing in the local people the community will thrive, both socially and economically.
Local employers can be involved by pledging jobs to IPA who in turn will work with Jobs Services Australia to source and assess candidates. We will pre train potential staff to ensure that any new members provided to your workforce are culturally matched and work ready.
Candidates will be provided with 3 days pre employment training including work assessment, life skills and work skills prior to interviews by the employer. Ongoing mentoring and support will be provided to assist with the smooth transition into employment, ensuring sustainable outcomes. A strong emphasis of this project will be on traineeships and apprenticeships.
