R U OK? Day is Thursday 10th September, but any day is a good day to ask “are you ok?” and have a meaningful conversation with friends, family, colleagues or anyone who might be struggling.
More than 2,300 Australians suicide each year and an estimated 65,000 people make an attempt. It is incredibly confronting to consider that suicide is the biggest killer of Australians aged between 15 and 34.
A conversation really can change a life.
Ask someone if they’re ok. You don’t need to have all the answers. All you need to do is listen without judgement, encourage action and follow up with them.
