Logistics Supply Officer

Our client, is a well established business with operation sites throughout Australia and is currently seeking an experienced Logistics Supply Officer working in the Northern Suburbs.

This position will be working Monday to Friday for 12 months with the possibility of an extension.

Position Summary

The Logistics Supply Officer primary objective is to undertake daily receipt, storage, issue and despatch of consignments to meet operational needs.

Key duties include:

  • Receiving of goods
  • Shipping goods
  • Stock management
  • Unloading/loading
  • General warehouse duties
  • Operation of a forklift

To be successful in this position, you will require the following:

  • Knowledge, understanding and experience in supply chain functions, (Goods receipts, storage, order picking and despatch) in a Government Agency or Medium to Large organisation, including Storage and handling of dangerous goods.
  • Operation of mechanical handling equipment in a safe and efficient and effective manner including a current forklift license (LF).
  • A good knowledge of computer programs utilised in warehousing such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and basic familiarisation with the Microsoft Office suite in particular Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in and knowledge of goods despatch and freight forwarding, including special packaging and labelling requirements for items such as 'Dangerous Goods'
  • Skills used to receipt, storage, issue and despatch of consignments to meet the operational needs. These skills include attention to detail, care in packaging sensitive equipment and recording of documentation.
