About the Winter Relief Workforce

Winter and flu season means we need to ensure that people with disabilities continue to be supported when the workforce is struck by illness. The NDIA, working with IPA Personnel, is taking the proactive step of developing a register of skilled disability workers able to be called up on a short-term basis when there are critical local workforce shortages.

Across the country, we are looking for people willing to sign up to the national Register to help out if needed.

We are looking for:

  • Former disability support workers or final placement students.

  • Those that have or are willing to obtain appropriate worker clearance and police checks.

  • People not currently working in disability support.

Our Promise to You

The Winter Relief Workforce will be lending a much-needed hand throughout a difficult time if needed.

To members of the Relief, we promise that:

  • This is not a full return to work; you will only be called when other support arrangements are not available.

  • You decide if you are willing to help; you're not obliged to accept any role we offer you.

  • The placements will be local and helping your community in a time of need.

  • The work will be paid at market rates.

  • Your details will be confidential and not shared directly with providers.
